Today the U.S. House of Representatives officially declared September to be ‘Blood Cancer Awareness Month’. The purpose behind the declaration is to raise awareness and support for blood cancer patients, encouraging citizens to help fund research to find a cure for the disease. Blood cancer is one of the most common types of cancers plaguing the United States population. Every ten minutes someone dies from a type of blood cancer. In 2010 alone, death tolls from blood cancers will surpass 53,000.
