The discovery of the cell of origin for human Prostate Cancer is a cancer fighting breakthrough. In 2010 it is predicted that more than 217,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and more than 32,000 will die from the disease. Knowing the cell of origin will allow for better predictive and diagnostics tools for Prostate Cancer as well as the development of new and more effective targeted treatments for the disease.
